چکیده

Abstract Insufficient mechanical properties of hydroxyapatite-based composites prompted the search for new and effective solutions dental applications. To improve without losing remineralization potential, use hybrid fillers was proposed. The first them based on formation hydroxyapatite (HA) layer surface SYLOID®244 silica. second investigated created by simultaneous synthesis nanoparticles from precursors HA obtained were extensively characterized spectral methods including X-ray Diffractometry (XRD), Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), fluorescence (XRF), as well Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM)/Energy Dispersive (EDS). Tests using probiotic microorganisms an important part analysis, indicating that there no potential interaction materials with microflora. tests degree conversion, depth cure, opacity, sorption, solubility, flexural compressive strength, remineralizing also showed nano-sized silica/HA better than alone or commercial silica at same time remained desired level. Thus, proposed composite has a high application in creation implants materials. Graphical abstract

STRENGTH AND FRACTURE TOUGHNESS OF WHISKER REINFORCED DENTAL RESIN-BASED COMPOSITES

Enhancing the properties of dental resin composites is of interest to researchers. The objective of the present investigation was to improve the strength and fracture toughness of dental composites via addition of silicon carbide whiskers and substitution of commonly used filler materials with stabilized zirconia ceramic powder. It was also intended to study the effect of powder- to- whisker ra...

Effect of Beverages on Viscoelastic Properties of Resin-Based Dental Composites

The viscoelastic properties of three commercially available resin-based composites (FiltekTM P60, FiltekTM Supreme, and FiltekTM Z250; 3M ESPE, Bracknell, UK) were measured to determine the effect of beverages on their storage moduli and damping ratios. Rectangular samples of the three hybrid composites were immersed in three beverages at 37 °C for 1, 7, 30, and 60 days. At each time interval, ...
